How to Find Refrigerator Model Number

To find the right part for your refrigerator model, you first need to identify the appliance’s model number. The model number can usually be found in the owner’s manual, but sometimes it’s incomplete or incorrect, and that’s why it’s best to search for the refrigerator’s model number on the appliance itself.

Every appliance leaves the factory with a label that contains its model number; and it may take some effort to find a refrigerator’s model number, but they can often be found on the inside ceiling or wall of the refrigerator or freezer, inside the door on the wall behind the lower crisper drawer or behind the kick plate. One other place you may find the model number is on the frame behind the door. Once you find it, write down the complete model number. Keep in mind that numbers and letters may look similar (for example, a zero can be mistaken for an O, and a one could look like an L).
